How to gain consistent players and keep players up?

Hi! I’m the owner of Movie Land Theme Park and we’re having issues with keeping players in-game and retaining an active playerbase.

We are being promoted through the ‘Play Together Sort’ currently and this opportunity was amazing for us at first with peak players at 900+ consistently. Since around October our player count has declined heavily, we’ve used ads, constant updates, new graphics etc… and nothing seems to be working efficiently.

This can be seen through this image:

May was the time we got put on the front page and you can see the decline heavily since.

We’ve used ads, sponsored games etc… and nothing seems to keep us on that active player base we used to have. We’ve tried updates such as pets, currency, collecting coins, entertainment etc… and if anyone has any tips it’d help massively!

We usually spend 50-60k on ads and we’ll peak at 90 players with the usage of sponsoring games and actual roblox ads combined.

If anyone has any tips or advice it’d be appreciated!

Thanks! <3

You have 12 concurrent players, which isn’t bad.

One of my friends has a Private Server of your place.

But I can see why you want to do better, especially with those previous stats.

Unfortunately, I think your time has come for this game. May-October is a whole half a year (including May). One problem with theme parks is that even with constant updates, the game will eventually feel exactly the same (or the people that really like the game will join just to do that new ride.) So concurrent players are difficult to keep.

Just my thoughts, I could be wrong.

If you don’t mind, could you DM me (or publicly post) some heavily watermarked ads? I’m just curious if I’ve seen them before.

Your updating regularly which is good, but is the game interesting enough?

Hey! I’ll send over some ads shortly but… if we look at games such as Theme Park HeideLand 🎢 - Roblox they’re able to keep this constant player count being a theme park? Surely there is something else to crack down on besides the replay-ability of rides etc?

Now this is just a theory, but that game has done like 2 complete overhauls since 2017-2018, so it’s become almost a new game.

I’m assuming you don’t want to necessarily do that, but real theme parks do decommission rides to put new ones in… you could create a new land or something?

Yeah 100%, we have new attractions which we have developed/completed but pushing them out seems to not impact the game much anymore? I think a way of almost being like 'hey!! a new ride is here!!" is needed? Updating titles/logos helps with this slightly?

Definitely updated logos and titles, another thing that could help could be a popup UI when you spawn.

Updating your games title and logo will indicate that there is an update and is a good practise.

Please don’t post stuff like that to make someone feel bad. They have around 40+ players. We are here to encourage!

What? We are not here to encourage, we are here to be real. These are my thoughts, I posted them how it is.

Is saying that their amazing game that did wonderful is starting to die insulting them? Probably not. If you kept reading, you’d realize I helped them more.

I think the game is good but maybe try asking some of the players what they like about it. Then, you can build ideas of what they have for the future!

How can you ask the players exactly when there isn’t a large community?

40+ players is a good community.

And how exactly are you going to be able to ask them? You can’t link any offsite links on Roblox and if you link DevForum, most people can’t vote on it anyways as they are probably under 13.

Both Discord and Twitter work if you use the Social Links feature, and you could even add a in-game feedback button.

I’m not sure why you’re assuming the majority of the playerbase is under 13. The OP would need to post their statistics to know for sure.

Also, it’s still possible to ask a small community for feedback, speaking from experience. Why wouldn’t it be anyways?

Hi! I have played your game loads and I have an idea for your game to gain more players! I last visited the park on horror nights and there was around 100 players each night! I suggest doing more events like those and adding in more features like maybe a ride that showcases all of the rides in the park or something like a monorail that lasts 5 ish minutes! For example of christmas events a christmas maze type thing that would take players quite a long time and reward them with something like moviebux or an in game item! Also maybe like a santas sleigh ride! Keep up the amazing work. c:

Well we know for a fact that most Robloxians are under 13 and anyways Discord is an unsafe place and it doesn’t have a polls system anyways.

The game can seem very repetitive and even with updates it might not help as much.

Your game is well updated however it kind of isn’t supporting the players as much.

Now, I’m not sure if this make fix it. Apologies if it doesn’t help!

Where did you get this information? Also, that doesn’t change anything. We’re looking for the playerbase of this game, not all of Roblox.

Not going to comment on this since I don’t want to stray off-topic.

Discord has reactions which can be used as polls, and not all feedback has to come through polls anyway. Discussion works too.
