How to get a small average number of players?

I know this subject has been debated several times, but I still haven’t found a good way in which small and medium-sized developers can grow the number of players in 2023!

Since August last year, the best way to get players was to use sponsors, especially from mobile and tablets, but after the update that removed ads for children under 13, the ads became almost useless, at least for some styles of games, like: obby, tycoon, cart ride, etc.

However, I noticed that over the last few weeks these games have returned to a reasonable number of players, between 100-500, which for a small or medium developer is still good.

So I would like to know if any of you are up to date on this and would know any way to keep 30-100 players in the game and not end up having to abandon projects due to lack of motivation.

Thank you in advance and I hope this helps other developers who are experiencing the same problem.

Sponsors never became useless with the under 13 update… it only took a bit for those games like obbies to come back because the people who make them had to find new sponsor settings that worked with the game, which can be a bit costly / time consuming…

For example: Many kids under 13 either put a fake age or the parents put their own age, so instead of sponsoring under 13 u would do 18+

Ad manager is doing the same thing, it’s changing the way the systems work so you need to find new settings to get players… Sponsors are still the best way to do this if you know how to… Every game style has its own set of settings so I can’t exactly tell u to do a certain set of settings and expect it to work… kinda have to trial and error it. (at least that’s how it is for me)
