How to get icons for your GFX

Look at these GFX’s not made by me

In the first game thumbnail, it shows the green trees right by the tent, and the tent itself. Those are icons.

Same with the Second game thumbnail, how do you get the icons? The mansion icon looks nice and it seems there’s some distortion effect which I don’t know how to do with images but I can do it with text.

And the third game thumbnail, you see teddy bears, letter blocks, balloons, toy trains, and a beach ball.

So what am I saying here?

How do you get those icons?

I’m getting into the grove of making my own thumbnails, but I need some icons, and I’m not good at drawing (which i can learn).

TL;DR: How to get icons for GFX.

They either make the icons themselves, by drawing them in photoshop etc, or they (more likely) search:
“[Tree] Cartoony (PNG)”

Flaticon has a lot of free SVG icons but they require attribution.

I started making GFX’s 4 days ago.

That shouldn’t really affect whether you know how to Google or not :man_shrugging:. I spent 5 hours my first day making my first GFX and one of the first thoughts in my head was to Google. It should be second nature.

EDIT: Or, you know, just create these yourself. It takes time like everything else to learn it.

I’m thinking of learning on how to draw in some sort of program. You can draw with a mouse. But then I need to learn on how to draw in general. Also, I’m a normal person, so googling is second nature. I just didn’t know the terms. Eg: clip art(figured out what clip art was yesterday after I made this post). Thats my explanation behind the "I started gfx 4 days ago, as I don’t know the terms for art.

Also, I could learn on how to draw, but like you said it takes time. Are there people on the DevForum who you can pay for icons? I’m sure it would cost like 100 Robux or something which is pretty cheap IMO.

Oh yea there are people (called vector artists) who make them (called vectors) but I do not believe they only charge 100 for them.

Thank you man. I’m not just new to GFX, I’m new to art as a whole, so just trying to absorb all the knowledge you know.

as you can see, these aren’t the style of icons he’s looking for. he is looking for small, cartoony icons that would fit well in a small frame

My dude it’s a example I am trying to teach him how to search.
And resizing and adjusting saturation Issa thing.

I know how to use google, it’s just that I didn’t know on what terms there. After talking with someone, I figured some terms like vector artists, clip art, etc.

Also, I’m slowly learning to draw anyways. Being able to create your own icons specific to your thumbnail and your style is a pretty good advantage.

If you’re trying to get icons like those, try this website http://clipart-library.com/. I took a look at it and it’s really good. If you prefer something else, try searching an icon on google but add “clipart” at the end. E.g. “Tree Clipart”.
