How to Get Started with UGC Creation on Roblox! (Beginner-Friendly)

Hi everyone!
I’m sharing a beginner-friendly guide to help you get started with creating UGC (User-Generated Content) on Roblox. This post is especially helpful if you’re new and wondering where to begin.

:art: What is UGC?

UGC stands for User-Generated Content, and in Roblox, it means custom 3D accessories, clothing, and items that creators can upload to the Marketplace.

:one: Learn Blender Basics

Roblox UGC items must be 3D models.

Download Blender (free software): https://www.blender.org

Learn to model basic items like hats or glasses using YouTube tutorials.

:two: Follow the Roblox UGC Guidelines

Read the official documentation: :point_right: UGC Requirements
:three: Use Roblox Studio to Preview

Export your Blender model as .FBX.

Import it into Roblox Studio and attach it to a dummy avatar to check alignment.

:four: Get UGC Access (Currently Limited)

Right now, UGC upload access is limited to select creators. But don’t worry! Here’s what you can do:
Keep building your portfolio of UGC items.

Post your creations on social media or the DevForum.

Roblox occasionally opens UGC application forms.

:five: Keep Practicing

Even without upload access, you can still practice and improve:

Try replicating simple items like basic sunglasses or hats.

Participate in DevForum UGC feedback threads to get help from others.

:bulb: Tips for Beginners

Keep poly count low for performance.

Use clear textures and proper UV maps.

Always follow Roblox’s avatar guidelines.
