How to I add shade/texture to my obj. in blender

Hello!

I am currently making a game, and in it is a desk, the desk is a bit bland and I wanted to know how I could shade it. So I thought It would be a good idea to import it in blender to shade it.

But, there’s one problem, one big problem. I am an absolute noob when it comes to blender.

Is there any way to shade an obj. file like this.

What I mean is to have a black gradient at the edges of the object.

Obj. file:

DeskTest.obj (6.4 KB)

If you could tell me how to do it or link me on tutorials I would greatly appreciate!

Thanks for reading!

I’m not a professional, but I know one way.

1.) Select your object and click this on the right: image

2.) Find base color and set it to gradient.image

3.) Mess around with settings.

If you were asking for a transparent gradient, I really have no idea. Try googling “gradient blender” or “transparent texture” that might help.
