I read recently that the platform should send me players if my retention and playtimes are ok, Articles I’ve seen by CJ Oyer seem to suggest a retention figure of 10% should get the game noticed by the algorithm and kickstart the flow of organic traffic.
I’ve been advertising my game for the last 10 days and seen encouraging numbers ie:
No advertising on 3-6th hence no returning players until 11th
However when I look at the user acquisition stats I see the search & discovery impressions is dropping not climbing.
Obviously I can only afford to advertise my game for so long but it feels like if I stop now player numbers will drop down to zero and the game will die.
I’m curious to know how these numbers compare to other devs who have had recent success in launching new games and if there is anything else I should be tracking / resolving to improve the S&D impressions?
