How to keep an anime game going?

So I plan to work on a solo project, which is an anime game that’s inspired by mob psycho 100 (its like naruto and shindo life)

My problem is, How i can keep up content for the game. This game has a 5 move system and a level up system similar to Uzukee’s YBA. During their time playing, when they earn skillpoints they have the option to upgrade their skill or obtain a new one out of choice. My problem is, once the player has chosen their five moves and reached the top of the game, they’ll have nothing to do.

Of course the solutions are updates and endgame content. But i cant think of a way to make endgame content interesting…

If you’re already seeing issues in the longevity of a game idea before you’ve started it, it might be time to make a new plan altogether. What you’ve described sounds like the overwhelming majority of anime simulators and clickers on Roblox, which are already in abundance. They’re hard to keep active without a healthy ad budget and cranking out more tedium for players to grind, which I wouldn’t want to take on as a single developer. YBA has a developer team of five, and a couple dozen accredited contributors. Likewise with Shindo Life.

Competitive gamemodes with unique rewards will defenitely help.
The only reason that i played YBA since early 2020 until recently is steel ball run (a horse race/battle royale) and 1v1/2v2. Add a leaderboard or cosmetic rewards so the best players have a reason to keep playing.

That’s actually a great idea!

Pvp game mode with leaderboard and cosmetics seems cool.

Adding new power systems/moves above what is normally there (new ideas, bossfights to obtain them, etc.) could work.

Here are some ideas:

  • Quest & Reward System
  • More moves to unlock
  • More maps to explore

Good luck!
