How to keep members active in Customer Service group

Hello,

I, along with other developers and designers, are starting up a Clothing Group. We have everything planned out and decided how the group would operate. The group will be a customer service group with ranks in which users will be able to fill out an application and earn the rank of ‘Trainee.’ They are able to work their way up in the ranks by a system called ‘Worker Points,’ which may be earned by working in-game, or by attending trainings. Once they have ranked up enough and have earned the role of ‘Professional,’ they are able to apply to become an Executive Intern. Most of us starting up in the group have been middle/high ranks at popular groups in our past with hundreds of thousands of members, so we know how to create a strong basis on group management and basic rules within the executive & staff branch and expectations.

There is just one issue we currently have: How will we keep members active? Right now, we only have 10,000 Robux which will be used for advertisements, which is not a lot. (We have all agreed to not involve investors, as we have no way of paying them in return and our team is already at 9 members, and we think it would become too unorganized if we added more owners.) We have all agreed that 100% of revenue from the group will be going towards advertisements rather than personal payment until we have grown enough to spend some on ourselves. We plan to include ways to keep members active, such as hosting shifts, planning & executing events, game nights & staff trainings.

For anyone who has experience in starting up a group, or even starting up a game and keeping users active, what is the best suggestion to keep members active. Obviously with little funds to start up the group, we can’t dump tons of Robux into the game and become popular this way. Are there any suggestions to start up the group? Should we spend 1,000-2,000 Robux per day on advertisements and try to be as active as possible, or should we spend all 10,000 in one day and try to recruit as many staff members as possible and try our best to keep them returning. Since this is a clothing group, we expect there should be some income (but obviously we wouldn’t be making up the 10,000 we spent quickly) and with Roblox’s pending sales system, we would not earn any Robux right away after clothing purchases.

We don’t plan to become some major clothing group, as the chances of this happening are extremely small, but we hope to achieve 5,000 members or more by one year after the official release.

Hey!
Keep a group active can be pretty hard, but with a lot of effort you can do it.
To keep a group active you need to continuously have shifts, trainings, etc being hosted often.
Also updating any of your group games will also keep group members active.
You can also become allies with other groups, if you do, both groups can host events together. Doing joint events with an ally would support your group and that ally.

When you start a group, make sure you have everything set-up before releasing any ads.
Make sure you have games finished and ready for release, ranks finished, also make sure you have clothing ready for your first release.
You should spend 1,000-2,000 a day so you can see how the group does.

I wish you the best of luck with your group. If you need any help feel free to message me.

As someone who has managed, owned, and maintained many groups of many different sizes in many different genres, here are somethings I have seen work out for me.

Host frequent events (3-5 times a day at least)

Try hand-recruiting some people, manually recruited people tend to be far more active than members gained through ads or sponsors.

Run a 5k sponsor on the first two days, this will keep an influx of players and activity and will buy a bit of time so your revenue is almost there.

Socialize with your members and help them out. Make them feel like you actually care about them, and they’ll work harder for you.

Follow some of these tips, and you should maintain activity and continue growing. I’ve had games with 50 people on almost all the time with as little as < 200 members as well as some larger ones, and these tips really helped out

Hey there!

I’ve just read a bit about your whole running ads situation and I can understand it can be quite pricey at times- especially when you’re starting off brand new and fresh. One thing that I definitely suggest is when you do those ads, you do them near night so that you can catch an audience in different time zones who may be able to inform more of their friends about it. Although it may not always necessarily work, it’s been pretty effective from what I’ve seen while running an ad half past eight in the morning.

This is also a very good idea that I have to agree with! It’s important to grow exposure with other groups in order to allow your members to participate in activities outside of your primary focus so that they’ll think you are informed with things outside of your community.

You can also host events of your own such as gamedays/nights, movie nights, and quite a bit of other things within your group.

Good luck and I hope all goes well! :stuck_out_tongue:
