How to lock height of camera while moving forwards/backwards in studio?

What do you want to achieve? I’m shooting some cinematic shots in studio Run mode, and I’m doing a overhead-like shot that pans backwards while staying the same height.

What is the issue? I can’t seem to find a way to pan forwards/backwards without the height of the camera changing.

What solutions have you tried so far? I tried using pan camera to mouse, but that only lets you move the camera in the y-axis, without being able to go forward or backwards.

There should be a cube in the corner of the studio, press a face until you get the right position. Then, press either Q or E to go the same height, backwards and forwards.

WASD represents moving forward, backward, left, and right and Q & E represents going up and down, usually. However, in a bird’s eye view, Q & E becomes moving forward and backward, not going up or down.

I did try the Q and E method, and it worked but the camera seemed to slowly go downward into the ground

Strange, can’t reproduce. Did you press “Top:”

On the view selector? Once you’ve done that, don’t move your screen. Don’t move your mouse.
Q backwards, E forwards
A left, D right
W down, S up
Or, is what you’re trying to film tilted? It words perfectly fine for me.

In the video, your camera is wobbling, which shouldn’t happen when just pressing Q or E.
Are you adjusting your camera mid-way? Or in the beginning? Doing that will put you slightly off the axis, causing you to slowly go up or down.

Next time you take a video, can you keep your mouse on the view selector? That would help.

Oh yeah I am trying to film a tilted view

If you’re trying to get a consistent tilted view, then aren’t you going to eventually go towards the ground? I don’t get what you’re trying to achieve. Pressing any WASDQE will move consistently in one direction, no matter the angle.

Are you trying to do this?

Or this?
(Only camera titled)

Or this?

Both tilted yeah

Have you considered using scripting instead to film your cinematic shot? I’m not familiar with scripting but I know that this is a possibility. I don’t think there’s an option to avoid moving where your camera is facing. WASDQE is all relative to where you’re facing.

Yeah i might just do that instead of trying to manually move it
