How to make a curve for an highway exit in Archimedes?

The Building Support sub-category is intended for all development support relating to architecture on the Roblox platform. This includes questions ranging in difficulty from extremely basic to even the most technical of issues.

You may present your thread how you choose, but you are required to answer the following questions in your thread;

  • What are you attempting to achieve? (Keep it simple and clear)
I am trying to create a highway exit which connects to an highway entrance ramp (wedge)

  • What is the issue? (Keep it simple and clear - Include screenshots/videos/GIFs if possible)
The curve i made in Archimedes wont connect to the highway entrance ramp. I loaded a new baseplate map to pratice but it still wont connect. I also changed the rotation from 2 degrees to 1 degree but it still doesnt connect. The thing is that i cant change the position of the highway exit and highway entrance ramp when it is a more complicated interchange.

  • What solutions have you tried so far? (Have you searched for solutions through the Roblox Wiki yet?)
I changed it from 2 degrees to 1 degree. I also used gapfill, it looks very weird.

Then i tried GapFill in another game created by me (and yes the problem happens for months) to connect the last part which was 180 degrees to the highway entrance, lets just say that this didnt work

You may then include any further details.

Does someone have any math formular for this here to make good curves with archimedes?

Well, first of all, what kind of interchange are you trying to make? It looks like a cloverstack interchange, but I just want to make sure.

I am making a cloverstack interchange.

Okay, well then you could probably try to have the one of the highways turn right before the interchange, so it would line up.

Also, a reminder, that highway interchanges usually don’t use 90 degree turns with a consistent radius, so if you don’t wanna move the whole highway, then try making it like a railroad curve; getting more tight towards the middle, but being smooth towards both ends.

If you’re confused on what I mean, I have a very poorly drawn version of what I’m saying in MS Paint

The image doesn’t show. I tried on PC and mobile.

Archimedes also accepts decimal point numbers (eg. 1.43; 1.5; 1.712), so you can just manually run through decimal degree increments in the range of 1 to 2 until you narrow in on a value that’s close enough that you can either gap fill or resize align for the roads to align properly.

I will honestly tell you I have no idea wtf the image you posted is showing but assuming that it’s the road that needs to connect properly, then you could start a more shallow turn further down the road that acts as a chord of the circle

I hope this helped you.
Good luck.

The image that i posted should show that i should show that the road here has a weird bend inside.

And the thing is that the road i have done with gapfill then connects to a wedge.

The auto-moderation thingy that probably exists must’ve thought it was something bad, so there’s no other way to post it really.
