today i will show you how to make a realistic icon for your game using roblox studio, gimp, and pixlr.
Step 1: Set Up
open the game that you want to make the icon for
find a place in the game that you want to take the screenshot
go to avatar and then rig builder
choose the type you want and import it
here are the options (i use R15, that makes it easier to position them)
now rename it using spaces (this will just make sure that you wont see a name above it)
adding clothes, accessories, and faces
first you need this plugin
(this is only for classic clothing)
add the shirt and pants items
go into properties and change the id
change the body colors
now the accessories. open the plugin
and type in the id
then drag the accessory into the rig. repeat for as many accessories as you would like
for the face, open the head item and click face
then enter the id

positioning
you can use this plugin
OR
select the entire leg/arm (upper, lower, foot/hand)
then rotate however you want it
you can move it around a bit so it looks nicer
also do the same for the rest of the limbs and then select the lower parts (lower and foot/hand) and rotate those too.
now add any other rigs or props you may want and position the camera for the screenshot (make sure to unselect everything and turn off select in tools)
now you can take the screenshot!
(windows - windows key + print screen)
(mac - shift + command + 3)
im going to use gimp to crop the screenshot to the correct size (512 x 512 pixels)
then go to pixlr and click pixlr editor
now open your photo
next i will add some blur
and some shadows and highlights
now you can play around with the other tools there is lots of cool things you can do
(like this)
once you are satisfied with the image, add the text
now you can save and upload it!
to upload
go to the creator hub and click dashboard
make sure you are on creations and experiences and click the game you want to upload to
go to configure, and places
find the start place (has the star icon)
click it and go to icon
click change, upload the image, and save!
(it will have to be reviewed first. that may take a little while)
hope this helps!
