How to make a small model follow the player with pathfinding

what i have is a little model with a part called Root that is the actual spiders body, when i say small its quite small and it just follows the player so far but nothing i do seems to make that work

il try to give as much info as possible, for testing purposes if you touch a part this little guy will drop of the web and activate his chase script, which i dont have right now

also the web isnt part of the body its just decor
