Do you mean drawing it or actually modeling it in studio?

I mean just drawing idk if the devs drawed it or did something else

Making maps can be quite a challenging tasks, I know.

A great way to make maps is by following the 4 steps mentioned below.

  • Blueprint

You lay out a bunch of parts which would act like boundaries for your build. In the case of an island, you can make boundaries for the island shape itself, one for the lake, perhaps even for the trees to indicate which areas need trees and even for the mountains!

  • Blocking

A lot of developers (like me) don’t usually go through this but as the build you are trying to make is an island then I would recommend blocking out the shape of the island itself.

  • Finalizing

This is the step in which you use third-party-softwares like blender to further improve your build. In case of the island, you can use blender to make the base shape for the mountains and the land and then import it into studio.
This, of course is only for if you are not going to use the Roblox terrain system. If you are then you can skip the Blocking phase and jump directly to Finalizing.

  • Polishing

In this step, you can add things like trees, water and all other stuff.

This is a good way to make maps but the maps I showed above are so accurate that even if there are 30+ trees and rocks everything in those maps are placed exactly like in the actual island and I don’t think this way can make maps this accurate

Oh, you are talking about literal maps of a build right?

Well this is done using viewport frames or using editable images. Basically, you run a bunch of ray casts from one point to the other and track all the parts and colors the ray cast detects and map it onto the editable images.

Or just use a third party software, there are plenty of them, you can google them yourself.
