How to make mesh meet accessory requirements without losing quality?

Hello!

I’m trying to make a Top Hat accessory but the Vests and Tris counts are too high for the Roblox requirements (1,200 verts, 4,000 tris max) and when I use the Decimate modifier to get the mesh to fit those requirements, It looks abhorrent.

Before modifier:

I wish to fit the Roblox requirements without making the cheese wedges and top hat brim look all messed up.

Any help is appreciated!

maybe you could split the non-modified hat into halves then join them back in studio?

Try a few combinations of subdivisions and decimates in the modifiers to get a desired result.

Might take a while.
