How to make mesh texture allow part color for limbs

I have a basic gore system im making not meant to be anything big just add some flavor to the game anyway I have a problem I am not very experienced with texturing/uv mapping, and the textures for the meshes has a black texture where it should be transparent showing the part color. How do i fix?

  • take a mesh part
  • add a surface appearance and set the alpha mode to overlay
  • set the color map to be the clothing’s template id
