How to make my game profitable?

Hello everyone, I released a showcase type game a little over a month ago which has become quite popular, but I would also like to be able to make my work profitable so that I can work on larger projects. I have been on roblox for two years but I have been seriously creating on the platform for only 1 year. I’m not sure how to go about making my game profitable without making it ridiculous as we can see in some games with items to buy everywhere on the screen. This is why I need advice and I thank you in advance.

The link of the game:

You can have premium rooms, for premium only members.

Well showcase games don’t really have much to do in, except looking at the stunning builds. Maybe try adding a donation board into the map. Or, add some special perks for premium players, as Hexultic said. Hope this helps.

You could sell a radio gamepass (add an option to mute radios though because some kids troll with annoying audios and that may drive players away). What Hexultic and THER4NDOMGUY7 said are good ideas too.

Make donations available.

To be honest it is rather difficult to profiteer of a showcase game as they are as the name states, a showcase game meaning there is often not much for a player to do once they have explored the map and admired the game.

The only options that you could consider in my opinion would be to add in some gamepasses for access to parts of the map or to use a vehicle which would improve the exploration experience. You could also create a donation board as @Jackman13799 has suggested and maybe you’ll have a few people to donate.

That said however the main way to make a game profitable is to make an actual game which players will spend time on rather than a showcase game as in my experience showcase games are usually just ways for developers to show off their work rather than provide a player experience.

Yes it’s true, the idea of the vehicle is good, there is a river that crosses the whole map I could make boats. Thank you! and thank you all

Showcase games have no room for monetization.

Donations, premium rooms like stated above possibly, or even perks that was also suggested are your limited options.

My best idea to get profit off of your game is to add a donation leaderboard so people would get competetive of who gives you more robux. Maybe if you donate enough money you get special perks and abilties.

Another idea on making a profit off your game would be to make a role called sponser. This role is almost the same as a donator but has speciel perks like a rainbow nametag and a icon next to his name or somthing like that.

That’s, not true…
Why would you say that if we literally just told the creator how he/she can.

That is false. You can gain profit from game pass revenue, in-game purchases, starter packs and more. Those two ways you have stated aren’t wrong, but are not the only way you can profit of a game.

Here are your viable options:
Premium Payouts: Givee benifits to premium players.
Paid access: You could use paid access but I doubt this would be profitable.
Developer Products: Currency is not A popular options as in showcase games you may not want to fully transform it.
Game passes: This could be purely cosmetic although if you have gamepasses that make moving around or accessing new areas this could generate Robux.
Add story: If your game has A goal or objectives monetization becomes much more open.
Selling Clothing: If you develop story clothing based clothes could be A very small source of income.
Vip Servers: If servers are often full VIP servers may profit you as people may want quite especially if your game has A serene feeling.
Donations: Quite self explanatory.
Selling Models: You could sell models from this game if you are not afraid of copying if this showcase.
Always Remember this showcase does not have to be your only project.

Since its a showcase, the best I think you could do is add donations to it, like @Jackman13799 said. If you create other games though, then I recommend adding gamepasses. But another way to get profitable from showcases is if you post them on a portfolio, because then someone might want to hire you, then you earn robux from that!

You could add donations because anything else wouldn’t really fit the tone of the game.

Solution

Here are some tips that could help:

You could have some objectives people can complete and award them a badge once they do.

You can get your friends to post it on their social media to get more outreach. You too can post on your social media to get more people to play.

You could give people a reason to join your server. You can say something like: “Connect with the developers and participate in monthly giveaways!”

You could have a map, so like you make a whole entire map of the place and people can teleport to certain places when they click it(I don’t know how to do that, sorry)

Best tip
One of the things that players look for in the game is interaction. You could make it such that there is an NPC leading them on a guided tour. This could be an option for people if they want to learn more about the history of the castle. I know you already have a UI for that but people may want to find out more.

Tips for game
When you have the showcase with the fire, you could add screaming and terrified voices. You could also have crying sounds(only if you want). You could also have a bunch of NPC’s around each of the maps.

Here is an example of using objectives in your game:
In the fire place, you could have a mission where you have to avoid all the fires and try to save somebody from a burning house.

You could even have in game money and people can buy some items with that money(You could allow people to buy money with robux if you want). So, maybe some rice cakes or drinks.

Big tip
You could allow people to roleplay as the people in the houses or make a gamepass where you can be the soldier! That way, it will allow players to fully immerse themselves in the game.

That’s all I have for you. Good luck with your game!

Showcases are very rarely profitable because yknow, it’s a showcase. You’re showcasing your work. You can add donations/have sponsors. Currently, you have 26 players & 700k visits. If your game has some group of players playing pretty much at all times you can make it profitable. You can find people to pay you to put ads there. You can add gear to your game or VIP passes… There are lots of ways
