First of all I am sorry for any poor soul that had to build a spiral manually so this is pretty much what the end product will look like:
So let’s get started anyways!
First of all we need to make a square with the size of your choice but I recommend using 9 x 9 to make it easy.
Add a cylinder to the workspace.
Copy the position of your square.
Paste it to the cylinders position and use “CTRL R and CTRL T/or set the third orientation value to -90” So your cylinder points up.
Duplicate the Square (CTRL D) And bring it up.
Resize your second square to match the length of your cylinder.
Go to the model tab and set your Rotation to a number that can divide 360 but ı recommend 11.25 Also make sure Rotation is on but be aware this will be the gap between your spiral stairs so don’t make it too large.
CTRL D the second square and rotate it once
Keep doing this until you have a full circle it shouldnt take long but you can use the Archimedes plugin by Scriptos to make your job easier.
After that select one of the corner squares Duplicate it (CTRL D) and bring it up, this will be our stair so you might want to save a copy of this or modify it now also make sure your snapping is on from the Model Tab
Duplicate it (CTRL D) and snap it to the next spiral.
Bring it up by one, do these about 3 - 4 times.
Select all of the spiral stairs and duplicate them, snap them to the next spiral and bring it up repeat until you have a full stair!
If you followed all the steps, it should look something like this.
If you want something attached to your stairs/want to make it 1 sided you may want to continue reading
Lets go back a couple of stages
Right there
If you want to make your staircase one sided resize your spiral by half it should exactly match the cylinder
and if you want to add something to the stairs add it and group it
Continue as if it was the normal tutorial!
Hope you were successful!
Have a nice day!
