Imagine that the white is transparency, for example if it was 50/50 red and white then id be 50% transparent (with the red still). Is this possible?

Yes this is possible.
Inside of the UI Gradient, click the 3 dots when you are on transparency.
Adding a point at the top will do what you need, move it to the far top right though!
This is what my frame looked like when I finished.
Hopefully that helps! But again make sure to move the red point to the far top right, not where I had it.

It isn’t properly transparent near the end, the slider should go all the way to the right-corner.
I had already stated that near the end of my post lol.
