How to make this jungle more tropical?

Hello Forum!
Today we got our basic little island done.

Very nice, right?
Anyways, I didn’t come here just to show this, I really need some feedbacks. Do you guys have any ideas how I can make it again more realistic and tropical?

make it less of a jungle aka remove a bunch of trees

I will when I build my giant facility town. Any suggestions for general atmosphere?

More props on the bottom. Jungles are very lush and filled with flora, such as bushes, flowers, herbs, etc. Also remember to add lots of water features such as rivers, ponds, and lakes. Other than that, your scenery is perfect.

I agree with Dan, it’s undoubtedly a great scenery, and some little features/decorations would make it more realistic

The biggest thing I can say is to look up inspiration. Google, YouTube, Discord servers, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.

From what I saw on google by searching “Tropical Jungle”, I found that most places are densely packed with tall trees, moss, and overall vibrant colors. The area is overgrown with bushes, flowers, wildlife, rocks, mushrooms, etc. Here is an example of what I mean:

Your build is not vibrant enough, at least compared to what others think a jungle should look like. A way to change this would be adding Color Correction in Lighting.

Also, looking at low-poly examples could be helpful as a way to get some ideas on things.

Yeah, for our facility/city, we also got the models done, soon we’ll put it together and then we’ll be able to add scripts and everything

It looks good so far, but you’ll have to improve a lot of things to achieve a tropical feel. To start with, the jungle reminds me more of a normal forest than a tropical jungle. You should definitely look up for reference images to get an idea of how a jungle should look like (As @Reditect said).

As you can see in this picture, there is only green, green and green. Add more trees (they should be different sized too, from little to large) and plants in general to add more volume. Also, jungle trees differ from normal trees, they are A LOT larger and have a much bigger trunk.

Another point, the beach in picture 3 looks a bit overcrowded with palms. Palms are usually at the ‘border’ of the beach and the jungle and not at the middle of the beach.

Anyways, keep up the great work! It’s a nice start, but it will look a lot more tropical after adding/changing some things.

Looks beautiful, you should be very proud of the work. However as others have said, I agree that the ground needs to have a lot more props and items. If you look at a jungle, especially tropical ones, they’re very vast with a lot of vegetation. Its very uncommon to see just grass. You could add overgrown grass, lots of bushes, and a lot more plants.

Ok. Lemme know about what UI you might need for that.

More plants. Jungles are known for having lots of plants, especially on the ground.

Looks amazing. I don’t have any feedback sadly other than it looks really beautiful.

The vibrant colors scream “edited” to me. It’s quite easy to bump up the saturation and contrast on a give image, and it seems that is what has been done to this image.

@Megalodox_Official I’d actually recommend toning the colors down a bit, especially on the grass. Also, some plants on the ground would go a long way. You should make the water more transparent, and maybe add some patches of mud or dirt to break up the huge area of just grass.

These photos are (as I’ve mentioned in another reply) obviously edited.

The sky literally looks like Gatorade in the second one lol. There are no natural environments that are this saturated. If you want realistic environments you need realistic reference images!

Good idea, I made some mud puddles

Mhm, I see. What should I do?

If you can help me upgrade it into more tropical and vivid I can give you a commission.
