Did the forcefield strategy work?

Well, I think if you put a semi-transparent (like .1 transparency) inside an almost transparent part (like .9 transparency), you can’t see the semi-transparent part.

So basically, if your .9 transparency part’s size is (4, 5, 6), the size of the semi-transparent part should be (3.5, 4.5, 5.5) or something like that. Maybe (3.99, 4.99, 5.99) or something.

You shouldn’t make another post about it, either wait for a solution on that post or find a tutorial on it. Try duplicating the parts as well (if it has z fighting union it or something but shouldn’t z fight since it’s the same texture)

is this just something that is going in the background of the game?
If so, you could just make the transparency of a part 0.74 and make the brick black and it will look something like this image
and you can piece it around the inside of that area.

you may run into this issue when stacking the almost completely transparent parts on top of each other and you will see this line between the two image
however, you can get rid of that line by having them overlap by one stud and making it a union

before union,

after union,

no line, no color mixing.

i would recommend using this technique for the best outcome.
