How to make UI rounded edges and Beginner tips

Hello my name is, mrfriesfriesmr1 and I’ve always dreamed to be an Roblox Developer but never have been I was little when it was my dream around 7 when I first started Roblox I lost my first account in 2017.

But now I’m here after many attempts of learning modeling and low polly now gonna stick to UI and hopefully someone hires me.

But to get started how do people add those rounded edges? I’ve searched many videos asked many people in Developer Hub and no one. Been on YouTube still nothing. If there are any tips and stuff I should know, like what is UI Stroke and stuff.

If anyone could tell me thanks. But what are some stuff I could make some stuff for practice as a super beginner.

Thank you.

Your topics belongs under the #help-and-feedback category (Art Design support).

For your issue, I think you can start off with the Roblox documentation resources. They cover extensively how to use them in UI elements and what each one does.

Here is a page about UI corners to get you started:

You won’t get banned don’t worry, lol.

The Roblox documentation is a place to go to search for anything you wish regarding Studio. It always stays up to date with all changes so it’s your most reliable information source.

Oh good.

Thank you by the way!

I’ll have a look at this tomorrow morning but I had a Quick Look and a UICorner makes it have corners I read like a nano second. Is this correct?

I’ll make a post in #help-and-feedback rigjt now about something.

I don’t know what you mean by “like a nano second”, but essentially yes. It allows you to set a custom corner radius for UI elements.

Ok good to know. Bye have a good day!!

Quick question I want to make you the thing solved this post thing how do I do that? And close it.

Don’t forget you can still change the category in the first 30 minutes.

Anyway, yes, you should use UI corners for your purpose. For your consideration, you’ll have to change the UI corner’s value which is “X, Y”.

X is scale (so 1 is 100% and 0.5 is 50%), and you might want to use it in most scenarios so it looks identical on any resolution.

Y is the offset in pixels. Many people just use it instead of scale, but your UI might look different on different devices if you do so. I advise using it if you use offset for UIs too.

Hope it helps!

What are the Topic Solutions and Closures, exactly? Summarize it…

Thanks good to know. But how do I mark this as solved?

Sorry, what do you mean? Can you explain a bit more?

You have to change the category simply by clicking on the pen next to the title and you should be able to change the category to #help-and-feedback:game-design-support. Then you can mark a post solved.

Also, you have to click the check in the message you want to mark as the solution.
