How To Stop Sunlight From Illuminating A Surface?

I’m making a custom Skybox that uses a Perlin Noise texture on an inverted sphere to simulate stardust in the sky.

When the sunlight (moonlight in this case) hits the sphere, it lights up the individual faces of the inverted sphere, making them visible and ugly.

How can I fix this? Would increasing the number of faces in blender help?

Here is what it is meant to look like.

I think you could just set the inverted sphere to shade smooth in Blender.
