How to texture our sword in blender

I am working with @MrGameboy123456789 on a project. We have made a sword through Blender. However, we can not figure out the best way to texture our sword. Any programs that could help us texture our sword? Can we do it through ROBLOX Studio? Please help!

What programs could we use to texture it? We have tried Paint3D, however that does not seem like a solution.

(Note: We are using version 2.93)

We need it to color each part of the object (like the blade and handle have different colors) if we import it in roblox studio it will be as one object and 1 color for the whole model. Here’s a screenshot of the model in blender:

There may be an easier method, but this is how I texture (model for demonstration lol).

  1. Open another screen.

  2. Change it to UV Editor.

  3. Find a suitable texture (I’ve attatched a simple made colour palette at the bottom of this reply which is good for block colours). Load in the texture by pressing Open.

  4. Select the entirety of the part/faces you want to texture.

  5. Go across to the UV Editor screen and scale/adjust the UV map however you feel suitable.

  6. Go to the material properties tab and click New.

  7. Change the texture type to Image Texture.

  8. Select the texture/colour palette you used.

  9. Repeat for all of the parts/faces you want to texture.

  10. Export as an fbx file, add a MeshPart in your Roblox game and then import the fbx file.

Hope this helps.

I don’t think if i am doing this right or wrong but i don’t see it colored.

If you want to see the colour in Blender, turn on viewport shading.

Wait I imported it in roblox studio but it didn’t have the textures on?
this is coming up like this in roblox studio

In blender it looks like this

(I textured this to test if i can do it so that i don’t mess up my sword)

It looks like you also have a color on it in Studio, which would mess it up.

Then it will be just 1 solid color… This is why this is posted on devfurom

No, I’m saying it’s not supposed to be colored in Studio, but looks like it is.

Does anyone know why is this happening? this is really annoying me

You need to learn how to Texture Paint. If you don’t know how to texture paint, you won’t get anywhere.

You can find a tutorial on that here: Part 3, Level 2: Texture Painting - Blender Beginner Tutorial - YouTube
