How user friendly is my game for new players? Please help as it is important. This is a racing game for all ages

Please consider using the “What are you working on currently?” topic!

This is the game i’m working on. Thank you very much.

Any honest feedback is appreciated.

Can’t argue, It is user friendly until you add some gore or anything similar to that.

Oh wow thank you.

I will never add gore. Kids dont deserve to be exposed to extreme violence.
I was wondering if the UI was user friendly and easy to understand.

  1. The controls are confusing to navigate.
  • The statuses to the right overlap the X button, which could be extremely confusing to kids, and even people who are new to Roblox and potentially see your game ad. I’d suggest only showing that interface when they hold down the tab button, to avoid unintentional presses and confusion.
^ if you do this, I’d also suggest making the statuses centered and in easy focus, so that the player can find out that pressing tab shows that menu if they press it enough times.
  1. Elements are unclear what they should lead to.
  • An example of this would be when you’re buying a new car and click the side buttons. It’s honestly really confusing to navigate even for me. I would definitely making the buttons larger, and explaining what they do if the player is new. (It does NOT have to be an entire, boring tutorial. All you need to do it just add labels to the sides that explain very simply, like this:)

  • Also, add a large button that previews their current vehicle:
  1. Things could be easier to understand.
A good example of this, would be this customization UI element:

There’s no obvious mistakes, and a younger player won’t notice this either, but it would make a big difference if you grouped the current color together with the color picker in a good way. I’d also do the same thing to the material. (I’d suggest focusing on UI grouping. Does it make sense for this UI element to have it’s completely different bounding box? Or does it already work with a preexisting UI bounding box?)

Let me know if you’d like a comprehensive list of small things I’d change and why in DMs, I’d be happy to help contribute to a game for children! Mainly since I really believe they deserve better things then cocomelon right now.

I’ll be improving the UI and make it easier to navigate for new carts when i add categories for them.
Above where it says “Default Cart” will be a new set of arrows where text in between says “Next Category”
