How violent can games get?

Recently, I was banned for the use of gallows in my game, and it was permanently suspended. All of my hard work, gone. What makes the use of gallows different from any other gruesomely violent games on this platform?

What is the limit for violence on Roblox and how can I learn to understand this limit? I don’t want to have to get banned again for this sort of thing, and potentially lose more hard work.

I believe gallows is really far off of how violent games can get. In ROBLOX’s sense, I believe they think that is promoting suicide because of the noose on it. You may think that is innocent, but there are some people out there who can screw everything over.

My game had no direct correlation with suicide, or the encouragement of suicidal acts. There’s one spot in the game where you can “execute” an NPC using a gallow. This one feature was implemented as an inside joke between me and my friends.

Sure, I might have broken the ToS on accident, but I don’t understand how a game about dismembering limbs, with realistic blood particles and textures, utilizing various real life weaponry is completely fine on this site, while my game gets terminated for one, insignificant feature in the entire game.

Why couldn’t Roblox have just given me the chance to rid of the feature if they didn’t like it? All of my hard work is now gone because of one unimportant feature.

Honestly, make sure to save your games in a file on your desktop for situations like this. You never know man.

Yeah, i agree, roblox should be fair…

Yeah, I’ve seen war groups get their games banned since there is a guillotine in it.

Roblox should start paying attention to the fact that they let games like neighbourhood warfare through with guts spilling and lots of blood but delete a game because it had a historical item in it.

If you want to put gallows in your game, I wouldn’t say Roblox is the right place for your game. I would say why your game got suspended was because gallows hold a very gorey and dark past to history. Especially the suicidal part which is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. It’s not going to help people with suicidal thoughts if they play your game.

For the sake of Roblox, don’t add gallows.

Broken bones if fun for most users. You don’t die in the game you simple try to break as many bones as you can on your humanoid. There’s no refence to real life suicide/killings. Nor is there reference to past history containing things such as gallows. It could be debatable that the game is slightly questionable, but at the end of the day it’s just a fun game.

How is it my fault if someone commits suicide simply because they saw a gallow loosely-connected to the actual game? If it really takes that much to trigger their suicidal actions, they need to seek professional help, and maybe lay off the video games for a while.

It would be one thing if the focal point of the whole game was the subject of suicide, then I wouldn’t have any problem with this ban. This is just not the case. As I’ve already said in this thread, my game had no link to suicide encouragement.

(obviously suicide is a very serious subject matter, and despite what it may seem, i am not encouraging it in this reply. if you are considering suicide, please seek help from someone you can trust. you are not alone.)

Okay, I do slightly agree with that. One gallow in your game for like a single scene should not get your entire game deleted. I suggest you reach out to Roblox and ask them if it’s allowed or how you can have it in your game.

Read the community guidelines, it gives you a list of things you cannot add into your game, and one of the rules is that you cannot have “overly violent content”.

Overly violent content is a pretty broad rule, but pretty much anything related to the hanging of characters can get your game deleted. A well known game got permanently suspended a couple years ago because there were hanging players so I would avoid anything to do with gallows or hanging or things like that.

Thank you for the reference. I was not aware of those rules.
