How would I go about adding a "kill checker" in this already existing script?

So I’m using the default Roblox sword, and I’m wondering how I would…

Get when the sword user kills another player
Get who they killed
Get the sword user

To explain in a more simplistic more understandable way, for example…
“Fvazer killed ROBLOX!” in chat or whatever.

The Script

Thanks

I think that the simpliest way is to put there this:

if humanoid.Health <= Damage then
      local Killer = Players:GetPlayerFromCharacter(script.Parent) -- This gives you the player instance of the killer
      -- the killed user is the player variable
      -- And you can put here some code that will for example fire some RemoteEvent and then localy do the chat message using StarterGui:SetCore()
end
humanoid:TakeDamage(Damage)

I hope it is understandable.

Hey I don’t know if I did it corrently, but this is my code:

	humanoid:TakeDamage(Damage)
	if humanoid.Health <= 0 then
		local Killer = Players:GetPlayerFromCharacter(script.Parent) -- This gives you the player instance of the killer
		print(Killer.Name.." killed "..player.Name.."!")
	end
	humanoid:TakeDamage(Damage)

And I get an error, attempt to index nil with 'Name'

The error is caused because I forgot to do this:

Players:GetPlayerFromCharacter(script.Parent.Parent) --Because you need the Character and not the tool here

and your version would work but it is better to have there

if humanoid.Health <= Damage then

and the humanoid:TakeDamage(Damage) part after that because when someone would slash some of the parts of dead character it would also print that he killed him.

And you have there twice humanoid:TakeDamage(Damage)

Weird, I still get the error Players.fvazer.Backpack.ClassicSword.SwordScript:115: attempt to index nil with 'Name', this is the script now

	humanoid:TakeDamage(Damage)
	if humanoid.Health <= Damage  then
		local Killer = game.Players:GetPlayerFromCharacter(script.Parent.Parent) --Because you need the Character and not the tool here
		print(Killer.Name.." killed "..player.Name.."!")
	end

Okay maybe try to put it in there like this:

if humanoid.Health <= Damage and humanoid.Health > 0  then
	local Killer = game.Players:GetPlayerFromCharacter(script.Parent.Parent)
	print(Killer.Name.." killed "..character.Name.."!")
end
humanoid:TakeDamage(Damage)
