How would I implement a large scale of terrain and buildings for a flight sim

Hi,
I am making a flight simulator where I am recreating the western part of the U.S. And I want to use somewhat real world data using google maps or something to kinda recreate the western part of the U.S.

I just Can’t figure out how to go about doing this. Do I figure out how to import google maps or do I just hand do the terrain. And plop in some buildings

I’ve tried looking up videos and articles on YouTube to figure out any methods. Like using google earth or the city builder plugin. But nothing seems to cover this topic.

Few things.

It’s unlikely you’ll be able to make a 1:1 re-creation of the western portion of the U.S. on ROBLOX just because of the time it’ll take and the lag players and you will have.

I’m going to assume you want it scaled down a bit, you can use heightmaps of the region to create sections but obviously since it isn’t going to be 1:1 you will have to do editing yourself. But I really doubt anyone would care how accurate the terrain is so you don’t need to do this.

You should be hand-making this as it’s just easier and more efficient, but heightmaps would work too.

I definitely want it scaled down a bit and thanks for the advice!
