How would I improve these rooms?

These rooms look boring to me, very plain and bad. How would I make them look like actual good rooms, besides adding furniture because I’m already going to do that.

Well, for one thing, Use different textures for the floor. Also, maybe brighten up the mood, you know, add some windows.

I see, what textures would you recommend?

Burnt Sienna Wood Planks for the floor, you could keep the walls and door frames the same, silver/grey metal or diamond plate for the ladder, and if you’re adding windows, glass for the windows and white wood for the window frame.

I’d suggest making the short doorways a little taller. Doors in the real world are generally the same height, and if you look at how high they are compared to the wall height they seem a bit off.
As stated above, walls, floors and ceilings are generally different colours/textures.
Have a look at rooms in the real world and notice the differences, then put those ideas into your work.

Also, the light in the first picture looks a little bit off…

You could add some carpets and area rugs.

Instead of the doorways being square try rounding the edges at the top so its less hostile and more inviting

The flooring and ceiling can use variety of texture choices. You can experiment with different types of wood such as white oak - maple - tigerwood planks to have a more interesting style.

Try not to make everything the same material as when placing your decor it will become bland or repetitive. Depending on the style your going for it kind of ruins the feel try various materials and see what suits your liking! It is therefore best to find a proper material pallet or color scheme to have a more comfortable and effective approach.

You could improve these rooms many ways you just need to find the proper materials that will fit your scene or your own preference.

Ceiling should be a different texture (and colour if you choose) I prefer a medium stone grey + concrete or a darker/lighter brown wooden planks

I do see lights on the ceiling so add some light switches, your decision if the switches work or not.

To have the walls less dull after you add in furniture, paintings work to cover empty space.

Edit: I didnt mention the floor as many others have already.
