I launched this game but almost every player only plays for a couple minutes then gets off. It is designed to be a chaotic free for all for more than 4 players, however it is a small game and maximum there are only 1-2 players at a time. How would I increase single-player retention so that server sizes can increase?

The issue here is that the game is designed to be played in parties. Meaning you’ve already set an incredibly difficult threshold to achieve.
Try design it to be more solo based.

You can try adding some AI NPCs into the game that also buy stuff and fight you so it can “kinda” simulate the multiplayer experience.
And I don’t see a leaderboard anywhere, a leaderboard is a good way for people to play your game even if they’re alone.
