I can’t really explain it that well but i have a good example. Take Apocalypse Rising for example. When you’re on the menu screen you get to choose the map you wanna play. Then if you chose one, it teleports you there but it still shows up as if you’re still in the menu to other players. Also when others join you it sends them to the title screen and not the map you’re on. I hope you understand what I’m talking about.
Also it never shows up on your continue playing.
You need to utilize Places.
Let me explain. Your game (the one on the games page, for example), is a Universe. Within a universe, there are places. There’s a Start Place, and other places that you create.
To create a place in your game, go to View and click on Game Explorer. Once you see it pop up, right click on where it says “Places,” and click “Create New Place.” Then, once you see a new place on your Places directory, right click on it and say “Rename.” Rename it to your map name, for example, and bam! You can also grab the Place Id (for TeleportService) by right clicking and hitting “Copy ID to Clipboard,” or whatever it says there.
To edit your place, double-left-click on the place in the Places Directory. A new Studio window will open with your place. It behaves just like a game, but when joining a friend, for example, you won’t be able to join their specific game, and will instead be teleported to the Start Place.
Let me know if I was able to help.
Thank you so much! You do not know how long I’ve been searching for how to do this!
Haha, no problem. My first game had the same issue. It makes the game feel so much better.
Glad I could help.
