Ok, so the title says everything. I just want to make some terrain water which is tilted 45d for a ramp in my boat game. I tried to use the Rotate tool but it only rotates 90d, and if I use the Part To Terrain plugin to convert a part rotated 45d to a water block then the boat just flies above it, and not tilt down. Help?
You could use Part To Terrain by @mkargus:
Just make a part, rotate is 45 degrees, and use PTT on it to change it to water.
I said in my post too that it won’t work because the physics treat it as a couple of small water pieces and the boat will not tilt when it comes above it but rather just fly off. I’ll send a video soon.
Use your Terrain tool but change the tool settings to Lock to Plane and the block instead of the sphere. When you get the camera view angled properly it’ll show the plane it’s locked to, and create the water.
Unfortunately, to my knowledge, there’s no way of preventing that. That’s simply just how the water terrain operates. You’ll likely never get a smooth surface on a slant if you use the roblox terrain.
My bad, guess I read over that part.
Yes, Roblox water physics are strange, but boats should travel just fine up and down a 45 degree slope.
Make sure your water thickness is deep enough to ‘float’ the boat.
This is happening, see how the boat reacts to the slant. And I have a good bunch of water too.
Well, it might be because of the boat itself and not the water, although idk how to do it but maybe it includes making a script.
I use a script I wrote 100% myself to move the boat and its just a couple of bodymovers, it should not affect this.
LMAO YOU WERE RIGHT!!! I forgot that I put a bodygyro inside the boat to stabilize it. It now works perfectly, have a good day!!
I love roblox water
Glad to know that i was able help!
Try this out then!
