I like the concept. It is quick and easy to play, and the cosmetics look pretty cool. I really like the trails you designed!
I do agree with all of your tweaks, and I think those will make the gameplay more fun, but I below I’m going to suggest something that might as well be its own game. (so take what you feel is necessary, or just take none at all lol)
I feel like the bombs don’t really affect the outcome of the game. You can win without dropping a single bomb. Tiles on the top disappear really quickly during the first waves, so bombs feel less impactful. Here is what I would do:
Lower the bomb cooldown.
Remove waves, make it endless (until one left) or create a time limit.
Why? So people can have more choices on where to place bombs and make them feel like they can impact the outcome. Some other things I would do:
Make all the tiles white.
When player walk on tiles, make it change into a specific color exclusive to them.
Here is the twist, the bomb will only explode all the touching tiles that you step on with that color. So, we can have players trying to cut each other off while destroying all the tiles in the process.
Since the last tile you touch will also be destroyed, double jump would be useful to get off that last tiIe to prevent you from dropping to the level below. But, thinking about it some more, the idea sort of became fall block but its manual lol.
I’m sorry if its a bit of a stretch from what you have right now, but that’s what I thought of when thinking of bombs and tiles. I hope the best with your game!
The waves are kind of like a timer because it ends on the 25th wave. But I agree with the bombs so I made it so that the time in between waves is 10% longer and the bombs blow up more area.
Usually you’ll send bombs down to the lower levels. All the tiles there won’t belong to you and the bomb won’t do anything
