I`m currently working on getting players in my game Last to Fall Wins and I wanted to ask UI designers and simply forum users whether there was something I could change in the UI.
I think it’s fine, pretty eye-catching. Too eye-catching to be exact.
The colors are too saturated and distracting, especially the inventory.
It would be better if you can tone down the colors.
Other than that, everything else is pretty cool. (Also the font of the big “Inventory” title is so out of place it’s funny.)
Something that really bugs me is that your shop button is like 5 pixels lower than the inventory button.
Your UI is also pretty inconsistent.
-The codes button has no Stroke while almost every other button does.
-Your use of fonts do not mix well. Either change some so they work better together or just use one.
Some of the colors you use are either too vibrant/bright and also do not work well with the other colors you use. (Namely the pink and cyan background).
You could probably make a color palette (or find one online) to find colors that work well together and colors that look good, because red #ff0000 does not look good majority of the time.
Also the placement of the close button in the inventory menu is weird. Dunno if that’s intentional.
Main: 7/10 - The best out of all of this, and with a couple of adjustments I think it’ll look quite nice.
GM: 5/10 - This looks quite rough and unfinished. My main issue is that the main frame of the UI has no Stroke, which makes Scrollframes look weird with the way the buttons get cut off. Also seriously you need to get that consistency together because the choose button randomly having sharp corners while everything else has rounded corners is weird.
Inventory: 4/10 - The way the Trails and Titles buttons are put to the side but slightly overlapping the main inventory frame looks bad. You should move them slightly away from the frame so there’s no overlap. The heading text is way too big (and slightly peaking over the UIStroke because of its UiStroke) The equip buttons aren’t centered. And the close button, like mentioned previously is positioned in a strange area.
This UI functions as what it’s supposed to do. But it does not look appealing and looks cobbled together. It looks like debug UI rather than UI players would be using.
