How would you track what changes other developers have made under a group game?

Currently, I’m trying to get my developers to move their games which they’ve created under their own Roblox accounts into the group, however, with such change comes the cost of trusting other developers because we have 5 developers having access to each other’s games and some of us are worried that someone might make sudden uninformed changes into them.

Is there a way to monitor this? Or possibly a log that shows what changes have been made into any of the games?

This is quite a hard case of trust with assets and developers, unfortunately the only things you can track at this time is the version history and the time a developer publishes on your place, this does allow you to see the history and even revert/download your initial version just in case anything bad happens. (such as a backdoor being installed or random stuff being deleted etc.) This feature doesn’t state which developer has published an update though.

You can track place version history by going to Configure Place > Version History

An alternative method I’d recommend is having separate places under the same group allocated to each developer, this way your developers won’t have access to the same places but just one, keeping things comfortable.

Best of luck!

By using the alternative method, do you mean that if we have separate places under the same group, we can give certain developers access to certain places from the TC section?

Yeah! So if you go into the game settings in studio I believe you can add individual developers to each place, therefore you’ll be able to track what’s going in each place just by looking at who’s within it.

That’s a good idea - or have a Head Developer and everything gets sent directly to them and they then put it into the game, instead of everyone having access.

Got cha’, as long as the game is in the group with certain developers having access to a few, I wouldn’t need to worry much
