Hygiene Procedures Guide

Cleaning (Hygienist+)

  1. Ask the patient about their oral hygiene habits, including their brushing, flossing, etc.
  2. Using the scaler, scrape the patient’s teeth to remove any plaque, food, or substances left on the surface of their teeth.
  3. Brush the patient’s teeth using fluoride, ensuring that the entire surface of their teeth and gum lines are thoroughly brushed.
  4. Floss the patient’s teeth, in-order to remove any plaque lodged between their teeth.
  5. Apply polish to the patient’s teeth, ensuring that it evenly covers the patient’s enamel.
  6. Remind them not to eat for half an hour to ensure the polish is not messed up

Procedures will be added to this guide as we slowly transition from the old one.
