Hygiene Procedures Guide
Cleaning (Hygienist+)
- Ask the patient about their oral hygiene habits, including their brushing, flossing, etc.
- Using the scaler, scrape the patient’s teeth to remove any plaque, food, or substances left on the surface of their teeth.
- Brush the patient’s teeth using fluoride, ensuring that the entire surface of their teeth and gum lines are thoroughly brushed.
- Floss the patient’s teeth, in-order to remove any plaque lodged between their teeth.
- Apply polish to the patient’s teeth, ensuring that it evenly covers the patient’s enamel.
- Remind them not to eat for half an hour to ensure the polish is not messed up
