Hello! I’ve been working on this game for two years now. It has been a really important part of me too. While i’ve been developing this, i’ve found it a good idea of gameplay and something that a lot of people would like
But for some reason, on the game’s release, it has been massively disliked??? I don’t really know the reason of this. I’ve been personally told by a lot of new players that they really like the player and that they would like to see more updates. The game has currently 135 favorites but the like/dislike ratio is 31/39 ??? I’m not really sure what’s wrong with the game… Can someone help giving it some feedback please? (Besides weapon spread and recoil, that matter is being handled today)
You can’t aim, mag doesn’t move with the reload animation, shooting animation is bad, game is way too intermediate, takes too long to kill (I dump an entire mag and they don’t die?)
I like the game so far! It was able to hold my attention for a solid 5-10 minutes with no one else in the server. I have 0 clue why people are disliking, the only thing I could think of would be if it doesn’t work on mobile or there is some glaring issue that isn’t apparent from PC play.
One thing that I would say is it feels “mediocre” right now. You have a solid framework but there doesn’t seem to be anything distinguishing your game from other arena shooters right off the bat (think gunfight arena, big paintball, RIVALS, etc.). The floor loot system is cool but it honestly isn’t core to gameplay, I found myself ignoring it mostly and just using whatever guns I ended up with. The blocks that represent loot are hard to read off a glance, they don’t stick out a ton and because of how flat they are they normally appear in my peripheral vision and don’t get noticed.
If you want your game to be based around loot you definitely need to rework a little-- maybe make the guns have barely any ammo so you are constantly looking for new loot? I’m not sure if that’s the angle you were going for but I found the fast playstyle very fun.
speaking of the playstyle, I think you should pick if you want the game to be more beginner oriented or have a high skill ceiling. The game felt like a weird in between in my experience, the movement system was fast and snappy with little effort but a lot of the guns burnt magazines SUPER quick which created an ammo management aspect. Personally I’d go for the more complex playstyle, I feel like your game could really shine and develop a highly dedicated following which is VERY good for longevity and general community strength.
Overall I just feel like you’re game is almost there, all of the core mechanics felt very nice but were just missing that final touch. The movement system feels kinda physics based but it 100% isn’t (I kept wishing it was, bhopping even with constant velocity felt great and I kept wishing I could do csgo-esque momentum jumps onto the roofs of shipping crates, around corners, etc.), the guns all function a bit too similar for a game based around floor drops, and there wasn’t a standout uniqueness to convince players to choose your game over others.
finally, try to get a community. The bots were fun but it just doesn’t feel the same as being better then real players.
edit: only other explanation for dislikes I can think of is play button is high up and small, still very noticeable but took me a second and you want to minimize the time it takes to get into gameplay otherwise you risk people leaving (and disliking).
