no, I’m not. It’s doing that completely on it’s own.

I think that this is happening because this object you are scaling is a Union. If you could please send a picture of the properties and explorer that would be awesome!
It is not a union, that is a part that I just inserted. it is not the parts, it is snapping and getting a yellow outline, than doing that.
Could we perhaps see the properties?
