I am very proud of this G3 render!

Last night, I was inspired to model a G3 after getting some advice from @Rekalu (i think that’s his roblox username) and went ahead and created a G3 model.

This was my first time doing a higher poly model, and I aimed to reach about 20k triangles, but managed to reach 14k triangles… Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing lol.

Here’s a non-rendered version:

Here’s the rendered version:

I’m extremely proud of this, and I’m really looking forward to making more detailed models in the future!!! Thank you rek, I really appreciate the advice!

Since this is help and feedback. I’m going to give some feeback on the model with regards to game viability.

That amount of vertices (14k) for a gun will cause performance issues and high memory usage. In the long run this can reduce frame rate if you have many of these.

So focus on optimizing the build a bit.
Also perhaps create modular pieces so any future games you need to build things for you can mix and match things.

Also It seems youve already figured it out however, make sure to in blender use the smoothing property with a 30 - 60 degree angle on the auto smoothing.

Thanks for replying!

I don’t intend on using this model for any of my games, so it’s more just a modelling practice for me. And yes! I do use the shade smooth property! You just have to look a bit closer in the model.

Woah, looks really cool. Keep up the great work.

By far, this is incredibly well made! I love the little details that were put into this! As well as the hard work! Nice job!

I love it! It looks really close to a real G3! But, it’s barrel could use some work, and the handle and butt of the gun could use some texturing.
