I can I revert a before an overwrite after it has been overwritten?

  • What are you attempting to achieve?
I gave my friend a studio folder of a game I made so he can upload it to the group because I couldn’t due to my internet. He accidently overwrote the game on the wrong place, and now I don’t know if I can bring back the game he overwrote.
  • What solutions have you tried so far?
I’ve tried going on to the version history, and everytime I updated it, it didn’t bring back the game. Is it not possible to bring the game back? Did I loose all those hours of work?

To be clear, I want to bring back the game that was overwritten by the other game my friend put on.

Try going to the game’s page and click the “…” and then click “Migrate to latest Update” and see if it works.

Hmm well then next time when overwriting a game make sure you overwrite the correct game and make sure you copy the game to a different file (or 2 if you want to) and save it so if you overwrite the wrong game you still have other copies still saved, i hope you find a solution!

Are you just continuously overwriting the same update?
If he overwrote your game twice and you went to the ‘previous’ update it could be his incorrect one. Now you have 3 overwrites. If you keep trying to go back to a previous version you end up with the exact same version.
Depending on how many times you’ve attempted this I’d try going back to a previous version that was farther back than you actually think you need to go.

Click on the game’s page. After that, then press the 3 three dots located in the upper right. Next, press “Configure Place”. Then, go to “Version History”. At that page, you can then revert to an update, as shown below.
