Here is my game, its a human vs zombie type infection style game.
Does advertising bring in more dislikes?
Is my game too hard?
Well, UI could possibly get remade, as itās not really as appealing as other games. (Not saying it isnāt appealing at all, but it doesnāt really pop out)
I can also see other maps under maps, and sometimes maps beside others on a lower ground. You should separate maps.
Advertising doesnāt bring in more dislikes, it possibly from bugs or lack of things player want updated on the game.
I suggest adding different variation based game modes on infection, or infection but with a twist. It would keep the players in-game longer.
Ok thnak you for the feedback.
Advertising only brings in dislikes if you advertised an experience that the player didnāt receive. So it kind of depends on your advert.
But generally no, itās bugs, unfriendly interfaces, a lack of progression, lag on less powerful devices, a lack of support for touchscreens and joysticks, etc. Basically if your game doesnāt do what people expect it to.
I gave your game a go, and wrote down my thoughts.
First impression from the games page; looks neat. Love the thumbnail, looks like a polished game I can go explore.
First impression in-game; the UI takes a while to initialize (clicking the shop button is very unresponsive in the first 10 seconds). I get a daily bonus screen that doesnāt look too appealing, but hey it gives me free stuff so I canāt complain.
The UI is way to simplistic and destroys the polished first impression the Games Page gave me. Now, instead of āOh nice letās explore!ā Iām thinking āOh no what is this going to turn intoā.
I am teleported into my first round
Somewhat deserted from the rest of the players, I find myself in the ocean. I guess Iāll walk to the island because I see people shooting and that looks like the gameplay.
The gameplay is very similar to other games, almost identical to R2D. I know this gameplay because Iāve played those other games before, and feel like those other games provide me with a better experience. I am not interested in playing much more.
The round ends and I receive some Cash. I open the Shop and look at some of the guns I buy, but none of them display any information regarding their stats or upgrades they provide. It seems like all you can do is buy new weapon skins and the gameplay will forever be the same.
I leave the game.
Thank you for the feedback, is the gameplay too boring?
ātoo boringā would be one way to describe it. It seems like the gameplay has already been covered by other games on the platform that provide a much more polished or interesting game with better progression.
I donāt know why but it looks like a free model for me and also you should make the shop buttonās text color to white.
My first impression of the game was problematic. I also had the loading problem mentioned by @Wsly, but I wasnāt lucky enough to join between a round. Most of the map had not streamed in, so I couldnāt see it. Audio hadnāt loaded so I couldnāt hear it. I kept dying but I had no idea why due to not hearing gunshots. Once everything had finally streamed in, I realized I was a zombie for the players to shoot at. That sequence of events just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Had I loaded into a lobby, saw that a round was in progress, then had the option to start playing and spawning as a zombie; it would have been much much better.
The guiās were hoarding my screen as well. Iām on a 1920x1080 desktop and they were oriented and sized as if they were on a phone screen. Having to try to see the game in the rather small viewport they left over while also being screaming at for my attention from the bright colored elements just ruined the experience for me.
The game seems like it could be fun, but I honestly left before I had a chance to even find out. Hopefully this can help you clear things up, because I really do want to want to play it as I enjoy zombie shooters.
Edit: I felt really bad when I wrote that last bit so I went and gave it a try. It is a bit of fun; but thereās realllly bad synchronization problems. Other players are rubber banding, Iām losing health from zombies that are a few studs away on my screen, and shot damage isnāt appearing on victim zombie until a half second later.
The network recv stabilizes at 50kbps in the intermission, but in round itās bouncing around from 70kbps to >100kbps. Waaay lower your network bandwidth so the game feels more seamless. Iām on a wired connection in the middle of the night; none of that should be happening.
Thnx for the feedback, do you know the reason why the network would increase in size?
Impossible to say from a distance. On one hand it could be explicitly your codes fault by firing remotes with too many or too large of arguments. But it could also be implicitly from how youāre using the engine, such as making render effecting property updates from the server that could have used existing client logic or remote calls.
Stick to green and blue and bright purple. Add some GFX images using Gimp.
