Hello, I just finished one of my small side-projects which is a Job System and I would like to get feed back with the scripts, buildings. Though I am more inclined to learn scripting than other fields, I am open to any discussions or suggestions. I have learned a little bit when I was developing this. The code structure is very awful but I am willing to learn. Thanks
So I have played your game, and the system is certainly not bad! It’s not buggy and works relatively as intended. However, it misses some mechanics. I would certainly work on making a button to leave job to become jobless (since it’s not there), make jobs more interactive (for example, add animations), add some form of xp for jobs and so on.
About the map and enviroment, it’s very unpolished and there are few random objects. At first, I would make the store less bright and add materials to floor, walls, roof. Then, change the enviroment to something more realistic, like grass with road, and make the map bigger, which would create more opportunities to make new mechanics, buildings and so on.
Overall, your project has a potential, and it could be made into a great job simulator, if you know what I mean.
Thank you for this feedback, and I agree with you. But I do not intend to make this my own game but rather an Open Source Template for other devs to use. Currently working on my building skills, my color palette isn’t as pleasant as I just wanted to have a placeholder.
Yeah, however I dont know how to get it to more ppl. I want to fix any issues or bugs that could break the gameplay. I opened source it btw so you can check it out
I would certainly create an account on social media like yt (if you hadn’t yet) and start making videos about your projects. Shorts can get bunch of views, which can bring you potential players for your games, or devs for open source games like you said.
