I think it’s quite obvious you just used the name “squid game” to get more players, akin to those “escape tiktok” obbies. A lot of players would have disliked just for that. I would at least try to incorporate squid game into the obby, instead of having the same copy paste obstacles.
Yes, your right squid game is hot right now, it’s why I made the game. The squid game is already incorporated not the game itself but, a one-for-one replica of every location shown in the show. It’s not the free model obby slap with a squid game thumbnail that I believe you’re talking about.
That’s what I thought originally, and add more checkpoints a couple of days ago. Any more and it’s a walking simulator, I don’t want to hold the player’s hand. But I’ll look into it as i add more stages.
It doesn’t matter how much work you’ve put into it, if a player doesn’t like the game they have the ability to dislike the game, if you get a lot of dislikes you should focus on working on improving the game, maybe create a discord server for the game so people can join and give their feedback on the game, or create a group for it.
You should look into your dislike/like data, then compare that to when you updated the game. Overall your game is pretty well made and definitely doesn’t deserve a rating like that. The only problem that I can think of is that it’s hard to know when you reach a checkpoint, maybe play a particle effect when the player’s team changes?
For reference, here are some pictures of the game:
Well first of all the game feels a little bit like a cash-grab game and lacks originality, but the main reason people are most likely giving your game a thumbs-down is because its an obby. People get mad too easily and just leave, giving it a thumbs down on their way out.
Personally, I like it, but people seem to look down on this game, let’s be honest, it’s kind of a lazy idea. Obby and squid game, too many monetizations, etc. Then again, I still like it.
