Every time I get used to the way the camera works in studio it gets slightly altered just enough to annoy me and offset my muscle memory. WHY DOES THE MOUSE GO AWAY WHEN I AM TRYING TO LOOK AT AN OBJECT IN STUDIO?
Also, the camera moves weird too now??? I just want my camera controls to be how it has been, not some stupid freecam mode that auto-enables everytime I get close to a part.
(if anyone can tell me how to revert this please do because this actually annoys the hell out of me)
we all feel your pain. roblox loves quietly pushing these “workflow improvements” that completely destroy years of developer muscle memory.
​what you are experiencing is the new camera navigation update. they changed how orbit and pan behavior works, which is why your mouse vanishes and the camera suddenly snaps into that weird free-look state when you get too close to a part.
​here is how you nuke it and get your original camera back:
​Check Beta Features: go to File > Beta Features. look for anything named “Updated Studio Camera Controls” or “New Camera Navigation”. if it is checked, uncheck it, hit save, and restart studio. ​Check Studio Settings: if it’s not in beta anymore (roblox forces things live all the time), go to File > Studio Settings > Studio. scroll down to the Camera section. ​look for “Camera Pan Mode” and make sure it’s set to its original state (usually Classic). also, make sure you didn’t accidentally toggle a shortcut that messes with your focus.
​you aren’t going crazy. the update is just incredibly intrusive for builders. turn it off through the settings and get your workflow back.
I lowkey didn’t mind some of the new features because I was getting used to them like the scroll wheel camera speed but like I HATE this new change so ty
annoying thing is they are probably going to eventually force it.
not sure what the beta feature even does, it genuinely just took my ability to rotate my camera.
Yeah that’s the worst part too, it’s a beta feature which means it’s something that WILL be apart of using studio with no way around it. This wouldn’t be an issue if roblox just allowed us to have options.
It used to work for me perfectly but now i cant hold w or anything else and scroll as it just doesnt work?? Same with changing camera speed i cannot change it without sitting still, why did it go from a perfect system for me to now just not working
i mean there is studio modifications. i use my own as i use linux and roblox doesnt support linux yet.
