I have no motivation to build anymore

Dont rely on other peoples opinions!! Your builds are nice and theyll only get better, if your happy building what you build then you keep doing that! Ask for feedback on your builds, people will respond with constructive criticism, dont be offended by this because their genuinely trying to help you, but if someone is just straight up being rude you need to just ignore them, youll be 10x better than them!

There is no variation of shape and no depth to the map at all. You need to add more levels to the map and different shapes and sizes of buildings. Your building is very repetitive, so much so that even all of your trees are the same and even face the same direction.

Just put a little more time and effort into each building and make them unique and a bit more thought into your landscape and you’ll improve tenfold.

Your build isn’t bad at all, it’s just very bland and samey.

I actually like your build a lot, don’t listen to what people say, everyone builds differently.

With that said, I do have a few suggestions that may help improve the overall look of your build:

  • The trees look very similar to each other. I would try modeling some trees in blender, and make each tree look a little bit different. If this isn’t possible, changing the height of the tree would do a world of good.
  • Most of the apartments and homes look pretty similar to each other. I actually really like the look of every house having the same general shape, but I think your build could improve drastically if you change minor details on each house. For example, changing the window layout, adding a balcony on some, or adding a porch.
  • It could use a playground since it’s a housing area.
  • Since it looks a bit like an apartment complex, having a parking lot could help a lot.

There is always time for improvement, you could always look at images for examples. Also try to use variants of buildings, also add bushes and rocks, and mess around with the terrain. Try not to use free models for anything.

Keep pushing forward. We all have to start somewhere. In my opinion it looks great! Get more practice and watch some tutorials! Don’t give up too soon!

If building doesn’t work out for you try scripting. :+1:

Practice, use inspiration (pictures), avoid free models (so you can practice), try out different techniques, and believe in yourself

If you don’t want to build anymore DONT WORRY, You can check for others ocuppations, If you sick but you still want to continue…, Try Inspire your skills on real things, See videos of youtube, Try Add The Most Posible Detaills to Your BUILD…, Its an advice of me, that i passed for the same emotion :frowning:

This is the day your journey with the 3D software known as “Blender” rises.

If you cannot adapt to ROBLOX Studio’s mechanisms, you can with Blender.
Although Blender may seem difficult at first, I can assure you it is a lot easier to process than ROBLOX Studio.
Take your time, and you’ll be able to create builds that you never imagined that you could create. :+1:

I normally don’t reply to posts, however, I felt I had to on this. The question “How am I going to be able to build better than this” is, for a lack of a better term, a difficult question to answer. I used to ask myself this multiple times when I started out building, and I still do to this day. The answer that I’ve found is that there is no answer if that makes sense. You’ll always be looking to improve your work on Roblox, up to the point where your PC can’t handle the number of parts, voxels, or triangles anymore. I’ve been building since 2016 and I still have a long ways to go before I can be satisfied, and I may never be satisfied with my work.

So, the ‘answer’ to your question, is to keep working and do more and more work. Perhaps, instead of using those free models I see in your picture, possibly search up on the webs “How to create a realistic tree in Roblox Studio”. Now, creating a realistic tree on Roblox will only get you so far, which is where you may want to learn Blender which is a ‘hobbyist’ software you can use for free. I’ve used it to create my trees and I hope to never stop using it for my work. Maybe now search up “How to create a realistic tree in Blender”, or, just start with the simplest of steps and create a low poly tree, that’s how I started.

If that doesn’t float your boat, I would suggest looking at other showcases on Roblox for inspiration or ideas. I do this all the time, and sometimes when you’re taking screenshots of someone else’s work and you go to recreate that yourself, whether in Blender or Roblox. You’ll have learned something new, you can now create that object and multiple variations of it, hopefully anyway. One thing I learned when building, is that you don’t have to make anything realistic, you should make it how YOU want as it’s your imagination and work. When you start creating something, and it may not look good, keep it and just continue to develop on it, and hopefully, in the end, it won’t look too bad.

I hope I was able to help with your question. I’m not quite qualified to answer this question as I’m not the best builder myself. All I can say is that you need to just keep building, get reference images from either other showcases or real-life images. Good luck!

I’m sorry if you feel like giving up… find a thing that gives you dedication, I was here to build for a bit high profile.

If you dont like to build thats something nobody but you can change but if you just feel bad because somebody said mean things and you want to keep building then keep building, if you want to get better look up tutorials online, make some friends to build with so they can give you pointers, if you genuinly like to build dont give up no matter what anyone says

Maybe less tress, and more detail to the houses so they look different and maybe fix the roads a bit but if you practice you can be better then Badimo.

Yes that’s a mindset you should have. If you have that mindset some day you might become a great builder. Just keep trying hard and you will get there some day!

I hope you get your motivation back but I do understand when it is gone. I try then to build small things just to keep myself in it because I believe you are a true builder by seeing what you are doing. Sometimes just changing what you are building and trying those smaller things gives us the time to regroup and get back to what we truly want to be doing. Hope it helps, keep building.

Posting again and again won’t help buddy!

First of all. Don’t listen to people.

Everyone did something bad and/or something good in the beginning. You don’t get skills like Leonardo Da Vinci had when you were born. You put effort. You try. You try to copy someone’s work (not like steal, just copy their work. Like in drawing. Copy to get more ideas, get more experience and etc) and then learn to do something yourself. Look at pictures and then try to copy that in your game. You will succeed when you have enough experience. Watch YouTube tutorials, videos, fast buildings and etc. You get experience, you learn new things. Hope it helped you!
And one more thing… Never give up!

to be blunt, If you have no motivation then don’t build. But I wouldn’t say you’re unmotivated if you’re asking how to improve. To improve try things out of your comfort zone. I doubt you have been building for a long time, so just keep on practicing and over a year you’ll get better.

I think your build looks cool. Anyways you can get lots of ideas from youtube. Also you can use certain plugins to help you build. These are
CmdUtl qCmdUtl - Streamlined building - Roblox
Archimedes Torso Archimedes (v3.1.9) - Roblox
Curve Cutter CSG Curve Cutter - Roblox
Brush Tool Brushtool 2.1 - Roblox
F3X Building Tools by F3X (Plugin) - Roblox
Oozledraw oozledraw toolbar: draw curve/rope - Roblox
GapFill Stravant - GapFill & Extrude - Roblox
MatierialFlip Stravant - MaterialFlip - Roblox
Reflect Stravant - Model Reflect - Roblox
Resize Align Stravant - ResizeAlign - Roblox

Use qCmdUtil instead of F3X as it is more studio friendly.

Archimedes torso and qCmdUtil are great for buildings, GSG and baseparts.
Brush tool is good for large terrain and vegetation and large maps.

Anyways you can watch youtube videos on Building.
Also one big think. Look at other peoples build. Go into other peoples games and see their builds. Look at the builds to get some ideas.
Also there might be things you don’t know. There are the few tips and tricks which make your build a lot better.
Also utilize studio features like dragging collisions. And snap to grid size with Move and Rotate.

Probably the best way to improve your builds is to learn to use the move increment. I expect that your builds have the Move increment set to 1 which only allows a certain amount of detail.

Anyways your build looks good and I definetly could play your game. And while the build might look a bit simplistic it does not make it bad at all. Do not lisen to the people who say it sucks. And this type of simplistic building is really common and I sometimes like this more than other building styles.

Hi there, ToxicSpyderz!

Your builds are not bad at all, do not listen to people nor let them criticize your builds because they aren’t bad!

I started building around late 2017, since then I have truly enhanced to a larger standard for my self! Point is, when anyone starts building they all have a different way. The way I learned was by watching YouTube tutorials on the basics of building with studio and how to start! I then advanced from this in 2017:

to this in 2018:

I would suggest you watch a few of the YouTube tutorials you can find, you are a fantastic builder and you coming here is showing your true dedication! I can gurantee if you work around tutorials, and building from pictures you will truly advance!

Happy Building!

:hugs:

Try to take inspiration from other sources for houses, plus, the roads are very uneven, with one being way thinner than the other. Also, if you’re gonna add meshed trees, detail your buildings enough that they fit with it.
