I know I didn't make a masterpiece, but I dont think it's the worst game ever made. Why is my like to dislike ratio 30 percent?

GAME LINKK :: [UPD] Drift In The Backrooms - Roblox
After running sponsored ads on my project the results are abysmal. The statistics for my game also lay resoundingly low, Average Playtime 4.3 minutes, Day 1 Retention 2 percent
Not one person who disliked left text feedback so I’m stuck guessing.
I fixed most problems I thought might be causing this terrible ratio. 1) I figured it might be quite frustrating for users to not be able to know where the Nextbots are at all times so I added a radar into the UI’s that point toward bots. 2) I thought maybe bots weren’t intriguing enough so I tweaked the AIs and statistics of the bots. 3) I thought maybe not having the amount of bots scale with player counts wasn’t enjoyable so I created a script that handles that. 4) I tried to focus more on the exploration side of the backrooms so I added special items to find. I did a bunch of other smaller things but I dont wanna list them all.

Is the game just fundamentally flawed?

Game is pretty okay for the average player, the UI can be further improved so the screen doesn’t look clustered

and I think the dislike came from the players that really just don’t like the game idea or they just died from one of the monster. (they are probably kids or something)

and the game has no other player whatsoever probably contribute to the fun it lacks…

just giving my thoughts.

Hello Flying_Worlds! I just finished playing your game and I’ve stumbled upon quite a few flaws;

  • Lack of properly engaging UI and UX Design
    I believe having a good UI gives a pretty nice first impression of your game, It’s usually what your players see first when joining. The design as it is now lacks colors and style. Try with something that matches the theme and energy of your concept, which I personally find original.

  • Map Design and Mechanics
    Since the game is about drifting in the backrooms I found myself bumping into every corner of the map and running into dead-ends while the loud nextbots were chasing me. The map itself is hard to play in and the cars themselves are difficult to control at times. I also couldn’t help but notice the free models in the game ( such as cars, safe zone decorations… ). Here’s my advice: never use free models and always decorate your map following your game’s style.

Obviously there’s a lot more missing but the things I’ve mentioned are the most important ones. The overall concept is pretty unique, with the right improvements it can get a way better rating.

Because the words, “in” and, “the” are not capitalized in titles. I genuinely wonder how people don’t know this.

fixed it ready for all my other problems to be fixed

If Im being honest it really feels like a bunch of free models slapped together with the whole “DO THING!!! but in the BACKROOMS” thing going on, if you made like a proper drifting game with custom assets and your own world created I could see this being fairly popular but right now it just looks like you looked up backrooms in the toolbox and grabbed the first 20 things

thank you for the feedback. i’ll definitely cut down on free model use :slight_smile:
