These are my first gui designs using paint.net, and I’m a bit upset how they turned out except for the last one. Please give me any feedback on them, and any advice. I AM WILLING TO SELL THEM, MESSAGE ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. PLEASE DO NOT STEAL!
For the first one with the cards, the consistency is pretty good though it has some problems which i’ll list later on, the bar sizes are well evened though I have some complaints with them. The background doesn’t fit so well with the actual card designs, try making it look more like a storage for cards, give it a woody/grainy feel, the border doesn’t fit in as well since the border on the cards are black. You should also try making the cards less rounded on the edges, you can still give them a rounded edge but make it more smaller as it looks quite awkward to be so close to the elements inside.
For the second one (the shop) it could be better improved for example, when creating text for UIs, you should make sure they’re consistent and easily readable, the “New!” Doesn’t fit so well considering the background is pretty light which might make it harder to read, you should also try making it black/dark like the font right on top of it. The image of the shirt also looks a little squished, try resizing it to be less squished to make it seem less odd.
The menu looks pretty good but at the same time, try reading on how to make it less blurry. Another thing, the X on the menu looks a little odd considering the fact that its essentially merging with the border. You should also make the border while to keep with the consistency. Another thing, the book image isn’t consistent as well since its bolded in unlike the other two images right next to them.
Overall though, great job with creating these for your first time, keep practicing and you’ll get better
It a good start and the only problem I really think I can see is the icons and images you imported from paint . net look blurry. If this was fixed I think it could look a lot better.
I think you did a decent job. The issue is it looks like there was some sort of vector to bitmap change. That or the logos are too big. I think if you could use higher quality images this would be very nice. If it is your graphics card, upload a place with these guis so users with better specs can view them and provide feedback.
Wow, great start so far! Only a couple things I would change to really improve it.
First, you want to make sure the images you are getting to put into the program are high quality (unless you made them yourself), which you can do by just searching “HD” or “Vector” as key terms in to your search engine.
Another way to increase your quality is simply with trial and error, and practice. I recommend YouTube tutorials for learning new skills, and eventually you will want to get Photoshop (it is vastly superior).
In all, you have a good start. If you do what I recommended, you will be making great graphics within no time! Good luck!
I feel sad for the shirt getting “stretched”
Low quality images
Not aligned
Again, low quality. I see white outlines. Is it on purpose?
Don’t be upset yet! Practice more. Your UI will be more perfect! I was just like you but after a few years, my UI is better than before.
Keep trying! Good luck.
You could definitely play around with the font.
For example: your shop one could have the shop bolded and in the center. Whilst the “new” text could be smaller and not the same size as the shop.
It makes it look odd and poorly designed. You’ve set a good foot on your UI’s though, good work and keep it up!
