Hello everyone, you might be wonder what the purpose of this topic is about. Well, before I get any further, I need to discuss some important factors. What is it that I have in mind?:
Well, all of you may know that lots of people, especially solo-developers, make custom rigs and morphs for their game, giving it a better aspect and a better taste. This is also what I want to do, because Iβve made an environment that a normal Roblox avatar would simply not do in.
What have I tried so far?:
Iβve tried some YouTube tutorials, developer forum topics, and also some offsite sources, but it came to no avail. Iβve been, (please donβt laugh), struggling with this issue for probably 3 years now, which is the utmost craziest thing I can tell you.
Anyways, now regarding the above questions that are required in order for people to take you serious and find that you arenβt joking that you need, and hear me out, I do need help. I will also share with you my character models, and will also show you their part alignments if you find that will help you, help me. Down below are the characters Iβve made so far.
Characters:
First one:
Second one:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
As you can see, both characters have simple body structures, and I want to make some animations that will work for both, even if they have a contrast in size. Also yes, I do speak grammatically, not just for topics. I tend to be informal only when playing games.
Im not sure if I understand this fully, but from what I hear, it sounds like you want to animate these rigs above. You can do that by save the mesh to your computer then import it to blender. From there, you can make an βarmatureβ modifier that allows it to have joints and bones. Here is a tutorial on how to do it:
I know that it is 1:30:00 long so sorry I couldnβt find a shorter one. You can just search βHow to make a Blender Armatureβ on google or something and you should find some 20 minute ones.
Again, I do not know if I fully understand this, but this is just from what I think is the main issue.
EDIT: It is easier to make a blender armature when the rig is in a T-Pose.
Thank you for the wonderful reply, but yes, this isnβt really what I need. I do want to animate my models, but they arenβt even rigged yet. I know Blenders complicated, so I just leave it installed for no reason.
Really, in other terms, what my goal is, is to rig but within Roblox. Iβve seen tutorials, and I donβt know how it goes great for the youtuber, but when I try it, thereβs always an issue.
I know a little bit about Blender and armature modifiers. If you would like, I could try to convert it to an animatable rig on Blender. If you would like to send me your discord or any app where we can send the files, then you can try to send it on dms. (I am not sure if Devforum has direct messages)
Again, I am not too framiliar with Blender, but, I can give it a shot for absolutely free!
Oh wow! Really? Well, I have a Steam account, you could friend me there. Iβm saying Steam because Discord isnβt all that secure, and anyways I deleted my account 2 years ago. My username is SansFrontiers. If you donβt want to go through that, gamejolt is fine as well. Anyways, I donβt want any thieves getting their hands on my models. (Not you of course.)
Edit: (Username is PapyrusFool.)
We could try that. Again though, I am not 100% sure if I am able to make an armature as I am also new to Blender. I would also need you or someone to make the rigs in a full t-pose position so it would be easier!
Alright. Iβll reinstall studio on my desktop and we can try that out. You see, I made the models in roblox studio, so I need to export them as Obj. Hold on a bitβ¦
Theyβre unions. But Roblox allows you to export models regardless of the fact. I think when theyβre exported as Obj., they are turned into meshes. I donβt know.
