So recently I’ve been working on a project called Hat Dropper. It’s going to be published and hopefully I get some players but it’s really not meant to be fun, it’s just for me to hopefully gather people to give me feedback on when making games, but also a place to maybe have fun if you like these games.
I have added everything there is so far, sound effects, lighting graphics, a map, but UI is kinda tricky.
I made 3 GUis that players will be using in game frequently (or should be at least)
Inventory: (I already have items so it looks pretty full)
Hi! It’s right, the UI can be tricky but I think you’ve done a good job. However, there are a few things that can help. I’ll use your inventory as an example.
Even Spacing:
Try to make sure that the spacing in your UI is even, for example from the top edge down to the items compared to the left side, it’s a very subtle tip but can drastically improve your UI, also make sure that the text is centered, seems like you have tried that but on the first two the text is on the edge.
Spacing between items in frame:
Try to add some spacing between the text, and buttons in the frame. Space the Equip a bit more from the drop and the text
Color:
Try to add some colors on the button, but not to saturated. It will really bring some life to your piece.
All in all I think you’ve done a good job, but it can always be a little bit better.
