I really don't have no clue how y'all make your games popular

Really though,
How Do you make your games popular?
This is the main question I have really struggled with in making my games,
I made plenty of games that are decent but advertising it is pain.
I just want somebody whose game got popular to explain how to get your game popular?
I Have tired advertising on roblox, but nothing worked, only 15 people played and the game died quickly.

There should be some sort of objective or goal to meet in all of your games for players to try and get the higest score, or do the fastest. I would say competitiveness is key in games with any kind of goal.

Making games popular is actually a huge problem for alot of people. You need a reason for players to go to your game over any others or something that they want to achieve in your game. Try to incude competitiveness so once you do get players you can keep them. But the main ways I think of getting ahead and advetising would be to use tiktok and make actual engaging videos that make the people viewing it want to play (and to use the correct hashtags.) and The second option, which is finding content creators that will play your games that’ll allow for players to easily find your game from the video which should get you a decent starting base.

I have no examples, sadly

But someone made a plate gaem with amazing mechanics, posted it on the devforum, and on any other social media. People told their friends, and the game got 300 concurrent players

Your game has to have above average visit time +10M, Good retention +10%, good robux per visit ratio. Algorithm seems to push games like that to the recommended page, where after that, games get thousands of players.

You also need a good and clickable icon with thumbnail. I can’t really tell you what is a good CTR, but what you can do is some research what makes the icons more attractive.

Then, the initial investments should start at least from 1K+ robux a day. Some games explode with 0 advertisements, because eventually, if like first few 100 players have good retention, average visit and other statistic that i’ve mentioned, algorithm will start to push your game more and more, until it sets off.

But remember, almost every developer has a game that failed. Maybe take inspiration off an already successful game, since it’s proven to be a successful idea, and make something in a similar style.
