I want to make a Ski Lift but how can I make it work?

Hello ! I recentely got a idea to do a Ski lift but I don’t know how to make it work. I want to make the red block work thanks to a hinge or motor:

I even want to know if it’s possible to make it work on a curve too and to stop it at a precise point during 5 seconds then continue.

You could make like a small hole put put through the tube and then attach the seats and then make the entire model move forward
